Go Live opens instead of Real Player!

any time I try to open .ram file (real player streaming video) instead of real player opening Go Live does instead. I know how to change the default application but it is a huge pain in the ass having to close Go Live every time I download a realplayer .ram file.

How do I change this?

Try to ctrl + click on the file and select "open with" there should be a list of apps to choose from or select other and choose the desired app. This should stop Go Live from opening going forward.

Thanks for the response, I have tried that as well. I t works great for a one time view. I can change the default application by to "get info" but that only takes care of the ones that I have downloaded already. Every new .ram file I get "Go Live" opens until I change it. Just a frustrating thing.

RCDefaultApp 1.2.1:

An OS X System PreferencePane which allows you to set the default app for pretty much any filetype, and a host of protocols, too.

Uhmm..

Or you can:
Select the file
CMD + i
Open with: *whatever you want*
*Change All*
Cmd + w

I have to change that all the time, sometimes it sticks sometimes it does not.

I use Finchs' method but you have to add one step:
Quote:
Try to ctrl + click on the file and select "open with" there should be a list of apps to choose from or select other and choose the desired app. This should stop Go Live from opening going forward.
ctrl + click = contextual menu
hold down the option key and 'Open with' will change to 'Always Open with'
