iSync I can't sync.

I can't iSync my new Treo 600 with iApps.

I did go through the listed procedures on PalmOne and Apple KB (have the latest system 10.3.8, installed iSync conduit 1.2, make sure HotSync is enabled in HotSync Manager, that the iSync conduit is turned on too).

When I sync, HotSync Manager starts up all right, calls up iSync, but then iSync does not see my device. And I can't add it either. Just does not see it.

Funny (NOT SO in fact), if I try to re-install iSync (as proposed on Apple KB), I am told that I can't do it because PalmDesktop v4+ is needed. Well it is installed (the Treo version v4.1). I get the same message after re-installing Palm Desktop v4.1 for Treo.

PalmOne help or user forum has turned out with nothing so far. BTW, the syncing procedures works fine with PalmDesktop. But I want my iApps !

Ideas?
Thanks.

Hi
Last week I installed a Treo 600 on a colleagues PowerBook and managed to get it working with ical and Addressbook.

it was a pain, mainly because it took a heap of attempts to get HotSync manager to instal properly. All the other Palm stuff would instal, but not the manager. It seems your problem is different.

My advice to you is to spend a wee bit of cash and get Missing Sync from markspace markspace . It's not expensive and will make the whole thing work smoothly. You won't have to make any changes to the setup you have just installed. I know it's a pain to have to buy something else, but it works.

That's one of the reason my Palm is chucked in a drawer. It just doesn't work worth a darn on my Powerbook.

I have never had an issue with 3 different Palms on my Powerbook. The markspace application adds some functionality, but i don't need it. my wife and several colleagues do, and claim it improves things.

Solved

Pelao,
Thanks again. In fact I got it to work yesterday night (too tired to post here!). It took indeed a multitude of attempts to get the syncing working. What's wrong with Palm and Apple? Can't get things to talk the same language?

Anyhow, I did get Markspace's app, but it's not installed yet. I managed to have my Treo to sync with iApps b4 installing it.

Nevertheless, I find the syncing process to take FOREVER ! Compared to the time it took to sync with Entourage, the difference is unbeleivably longer. Why ? Should I install Missing Link from Markspace? Or should I rather not touch something that is now working... I'm hesitating. Maybe I'll give it a few days to build a little frustration for the waiting time LOL LOL LOL

And now I have to switch my wife's iApps connection over to her new Palm (my old Tungsten). *sigh* Hope it will go well !

Cheers all.
