I have already set up my Wireless router, but how do i set up the network between my PC and MAC? I just want to be able to share files, but the MAC isnt recognizing the network and vise versa. I already enabled file sharing on my mac.
It will probably help to know specifically what kind of Mac OS it is (OS 9 or OS X) as well as which Windows OS it is (DOS/3.1/3.11/95/98/2000/XP/ME/2003) as this will indicate limitations and such.
And what do you mean by "the MAC isn't recognizing the network and vice versa"? Do you have the MAC setup for DHCP? Does it have a wireless NIC?
My PC is running XP and my MAC is running OSX jaguar.
I cannot set up a network on the pc so the mac will recognize it.
I am not very good at networking, but have done it before.
Thanks for your help
I have the exact same setup as you, and mine works fine. I did need to do a bit of reading before I got it working.
Can you access the internet from your XP computer? Can you access with your Mac? If yes and yes, you have to turn on sharing with Windows on your Mac. If you don't know how to do this, let the board know.
Last night, I followed these instruction and set up file sharing between my PC and ibook (both connect wireless to a DLink router) http://www.efelix.co.uk/tech/3001.html
Also set up wireless printing from ibook through the PC which connect to the printer http://www.efelix.co.uk/tech/3004.html
Only problem is when Print color document from the ibook, it always print out black & white.
