Hot Sync & G5

For some reason, when I trey to launch Hot Sync on my G5, I am getting a "shared library error". Is anyone using Hot Sync (Palm) on theire G5 and if so, have you gotten that error?

Found this at PalmOne:
The Mac OS X installer includes an "Archive and Install" option. When you upgrade your Mac OS to a newer version of OS X, and select the "Archive and Install" option from the installer's "Select a Destination: Options" panel, you may receive the following error upon restart or attempting to launch HotSync Manager:

"The application "HotSync Manager" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "4<HotSync Manager><HotSync Manager><HotSyncLib.PPC>"

Explanation: The Archive and Install option in the Mac OS X installer does not copy these files from the archived System and Library folders to the new OS installation. HotSync Manager requires these files to run properly.

Workaround: You must re-install Palm Desktop from the CD included with your handheld.

Well, I didn't do an "archive & install", but rather a clean install. Anyways, the problem is that I can't use the workaround since I don't have a cd with the used unit I purchased. I wonder what other options there are.

Would it be a bad idea to copy any files missing on my G5 over from my Powerbook, manually dropping them into various folders in the System?

PalmOne says that the web download does not install the files that may be missing. It's got to ber the cd version.
