I'm about to buy my first Mac, a powerbook. I 'm just doing the final check of what's compatible and what's not. I have a Sony Network Walkman aka Mp3 player (NW-MS70D0) that i use quite frequently. I load it via my pc laptop. Sony says that it's not compatible with macs.
Now, I realize that Sony doesn't want me to buy a Mac and Mac would like me to buy an IPod but does anyone know if there's a way to make these two products "get along" ?

Reason: unclear, spelling mistakes
After doing some research on the player, there is no way you can get it to work with your Mac. The reason being is that the player is not a true MP3 player. The player (using Sonic Stage) converts any songs you have into ATRAC3, which is a proprietary Sony format that while it tends to have better sound quality then your standard MP3 is a major PITA to use.
Because of this fact, it's more then likely not worth even pursuing in finding a hack that would allow you to put files you have on the player without using Sonic Stage.
I once bought a Panasonic player that was loosely adverstised as being an MP3 player. What it actually meant was that it would take your MP3 songs and convert them to SD Audio.
Thanks all for your help. I don't think it will be the deal breaker.
I guess i'll just have to keep the old Toshiba around as a jukebox of sorts, at least until i get an iPod!
it might work under virtual pc, not sure? actually i think there are some free pc emulators for mac out there... it'll run slow, but if you only need it to xfer songs, shouldn't be a problem.
gruegoo - It should work just fine. There is Virtual PC, but a few cheaper emulators have been released lately that are comparable in speed. (GuestPC, iEmulator).
