Buying iLife 05 Now?

Hi everyone! Not sure if you guys have caught the keynote speech from Jobs at Macworld. Anyhow, I am blown away with some of the stuff from iLife 05 & would want to buy it now. But, I also know Apple will probably have some sort of package deal with Tiger due out soon. What do you guys think? I can get iLife 05 for $75 (with the education package price).

Dont count on a package prive. I have never seen iLife bundeled with the OS. So I would go for the edu price, you wont find a new price anywhere better

I thought a short while ago they were bundling iLife 04 with Panther. I think it was when you buy Panther, you can buy iLife 04 for a chepaer price.

That would be great, I have not seen it though. Can anyone confirm this?

BTW, my wife was so blown away with the "Album" in ilfe that we actually thought about ordering one. Has anyone ever done it? I can't really find CAD prices. So I assumed we are paying the American prices that were quoted ... I figured to get all the designs and options of the albums, I am going to need iLife 05. That's one of the main reasons I am looking at upgrading.

smd688 - if you go to http://www.apple.com/ca/ilife/ and then click on the Buy Now button. You don't have to buy now, but you will see the CDN price for iLife '05 which appears to be $99.
Then you can either proceed with an online order or wait and buy it at your local Apple reseller.

Hope that helps you find what you're looking for.

Chipper, thanks for the info, I have looked at the prices already ... Like I said (orginally), I was thinking of buying iLife 05 (with Tiger) thinking there may be some sort of a deal like they had with iLife 04 & Panther (thanks to Heart for the link). Do you think there will be some sort of a deal with Tiger due out in a few months? I think I am still going to buy iLife 05 now, rather than waiting for the launch of Tiger ...

I think it is safe to assume the reason there was a bundle deal with Panther and iLife 04 was because they were trying to get rid of inventory for the introduction of iLife 05 and Tiger.

Apple rarely has bundle deals unless they are getting rid of inventory for the next version, be it software or hardware.

For instance there was recently a bundle with Final Cut Express if bought with a new Mac. Just after the bundle expires they announce FCE HD.

So you can wait for a bundle, but it'll likely be a while and there will probably be a new version around the corner.
