I can't seem to change my .mac password In .mac system preferences on my G5 iMac. I delete the old password and type in the new one, but there seems to be no way to save the change. The next time I open it up, it still shows the old password. This is only a problem for my McAfee virus update, which gives me an error message saying the password is wrong. Suggestions?

Hi, Did your .Mac ever work with your system before changing the password? (Accessing your iDisk for example).

For the www.mac.com site you have to login using username@mac.com but for the system prefs your .Mac Member Name alone should be entered (without the @mac.com)

You don't change your dotmac password from System Preferences. Instead, log into dotmac (www.mac.com) and click on Account Settings. You can change it there.

Or, if you forgot it, you can reset it at iForgot.apple.com.

If you change your password, don't forget to type in the new password in your mail application and System Preferences.

Cheers,

Oh, and if System Preferences isn't accepting the new pw, try changing it manually in the Keychain app (located in Applications/Utilities).
