I recently installed a CDRW into a G3 All In One replacing the 24xCD-ROM.
OS 10.2 works fine, I can boot off the CD Drive, burn CDs, mount CDs and so on. No problems.
But everytime I try to start OS 9.2.2 it freezes, I can get it to start if I hold down "Shift" key (Exentions off).
I cannot get it to boot off the CD-Drive.

The CDRW is from a LaCie external burner, I used the case for something else and the drive had been sitting unused for a year or more.

Any suggestions?

Do you mean a CDRW?
Anyway, sounds like an extension problem.
Maybe you could go on the Lacie web site,
and see if there is a Driver for OS9.
