First, I have put a password on my screen saver so prying eyes can't see what's on my screen while I'm away from my desk - somedays this works and more often than not it doesn't - what the heck?

Second, I like to browse through eBay everyday and Safari WILL NOT save my login or password even though I tell it to (it get's very tiring to sign in every 15 minutes) - this used to work, but no more.

How do I fix? I have run Onyx, Cocktail, I have fixed my disk permissions ... what else do I need to do?

For thew Safari issue, Reset Safari... is what you want to choose. See if that helps.

Not sure about the screensaver password... works fine for me all the time. Maybe it gets unchecked in the System Preferences some how?

simon - As a workaround to the screensaver issue, why not enable Fast User Switching and just switch to the login window? It's more secure, but AFAIK can't be automatically triggered like the screensaver.

And for Safari, resetting will work, but I'd run Keychain First Aid first as it sounds like the keychain isn't being updated properly.

To Keychain First Aid, open up Keychain Access in the Utilities folder, and go to the Window menu and choose Keychain First Aid (Command-Option-A)

Verify and then repair and see if that alleviates any issues.

Heres an easy way to lock the screen. Open Keychain Access (Utilities Folder). From the menubar select "View" and choose "Show Status in menubar". You will now see a small lock icon in the right side of the menubar. If you leave your computer simply click the lock and select "Lock Screen"

Bookmark the 'my ebay' page. At a minimum your ID will be entered and, if you don't quit your session, your PW will still be valid too.

Nope - knocked out every 15 minutes ... but it looks like the reset Safari tip helped.

Still have the screen-saver password issue
