How to network OS 9 and OS X?

I have an old beige G3 running OS 9.2 (and 10.2.8 on a separate partition) and a newer G4 MDD running 10.3.5, all hooked into a Netgear wireless router with Ethernet cable. Each can access the internet via the router (not wirelessly), but I would like to have them 'see' each other, ie: a small network, and use each other's printers, if possible.

Is this possible? If so, how do I go about it? I don't want anything accessible from outside though...

To access the computer with OS 9, turn on file-sharing in the "File Sharing" control panel. You will then be able to find the computer by going to the "Network" folder on your Mac with OS X. I haven't used it, but I notice there is also a "USB Printer Sharing" control panel so you might want to check that out

On Mac OS X look in the "Sharing" pane under the Sysstem Preferences.

If you have a router it won't be seen outside of your network.
