in error i did something stupid.

while in Mail, i had an account selected in the main viewing screen. (i have 4 accounts in Mail)
one of the accounts was highlighted and i pressed the delete button, and then enter to confirm that i wanted to delete the account.

so, the account still exists in my prefrences in Mail, and the account still is listed with the other 3 accounts in the main viewing screen, except it has an arrow pointing to it and i cant view the email that goes to the account.

it still gets mail too! it shows the number of new emails in brackets, just like all other accounts, its just not showing any of the mail that comes in.

can someone help me with this?

Thats ok, well as long as you have your Server information, First things first take The Half deleted account offline --right click the icon in mail and you'll see ** take "ACCOUNT NAME HERE" offline** then Quit mail

Go to your homefolder>library>mail
your 4 mail acounts are in 4 different folders Choose the account you want and copy the whole folder over to your desktop (make sure it's copied and not moved) Write down all your server info,

go back into mail go to preferences and delete the account from there, Now re-add the account type all the settings in you need, quit mail again,

go back to the Homefolder>library>mail

Now here's the tricky part you have to Replace all the files from folder a(desktop) to folder b(inside your mail folder) then open mail

if i haven't lost you, this should work perfectly,
