This isn't really a trouble shooting post,
It's just a post about the 466 mhz ZIF that I got recently.

The Zif installed fine and I set the jumpers, But it wouldn't
work at 466, It wouldn't work at 433 either.

I finally had to set the jumpers at 400 mhz and it finally booted
up, So much for the Zif advertized as a 466 at Wegener Media.

The Zif chip is an upgrade from my 366 mhz Zif chip, Not
much of an upgrade...But it'll do.

Dave

Interesting... I would contact the company and tell them it won't work at 466 MHz. It's possible that the chip you bought was a 400 MHz ZIF, but the company who sold it advertised it at 466 MHz because they overclocked the chip in their own G3 to that speed without incident, and assumed it would work in all machines then. The problem is, however, is that just because one machine can run a chip overclocked at X speed doesn't mean all machines can - even identical machines. It randomly varies between every single machine.

Thanks Lars,
I just fired them off an email.
Who knows...Maybe I'll get a rebate.

What a bunch of idiots,
I received an email back saying that they don't sell 466 mhz
chips and to send them a link of where I bought it from.
So I had to email them a lengthy letter with their own
instructions about making their 450 mhz chip run at 466 mhz
and include all of their own links.

Jeez!
