Hi all,

I was wondering if there was a way to lock down the link speed at which a built-in NIC will connect at on Mac OSX.

I assist in overseeing hundreds of networks all around the globe, comprising of cat5, DSL, wireless, cable, ECT. Often, as part of troubleshooting, we change the link speed/media type settings on windows machines to assist them on getting access to our networks.

Occasionally (very rare), we run into Macintosh machines that will not connect. My NOC believes that the problem may be similar to what we see on windows machines at times.... the auto negotiation makes the wrong decision.

Is there a way that you can set the link speed rather than allowing auto negotiating to handle this?

Any comments, suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Peace!
Alejandro in Calgary..... Where it is 6 degrees today...nice!
