I am a student at Wilfrid Laurier University which has recently expanded their wireless network and changed the login procedure.
Windows users purchase a software product called "Odyssey" by "Funk Software" which allows them to authenticate to the wireless network using their regular school provided Novel username/password.
This software is not available for Mac, and they do not mention Mac on their web site. Does anyone know if there is a way for me to connect to this network?
If I choose "Other..." in the AirPort menu (as if to choose a closed network), it asks for the network name and password/key.
Have I missed something?
To clarify... The school does not give out the network password - every user has their own username and password which authenticates to the odyssey server to gain access to wireless.
Talk to the IT people and see what kind of authorisation the network uses. The password is probably being converted from paint text to hex or something similar.
Considering how many different security authorisation schemes AirPort supports I find it hard to believe that you would be locked out entirely.

... Because Odyssey Client fully implements the 802.1x standard and WLAN protocols EAP-TTLS, EAP-PEAP, EAP-TLS, and LEAP ...
Well Mac OS 10.3 I know does 802.1x quite well, what you have to do is open Internet Connect, Go to the file menu and choose new 802.1x connection. (Or press command, shift and X) then you can enter the info
