I just upgraded to OS 10.8 from 10.6

When I used to "two finger zoom" in Safari, under 10.6, it would automatically make the bigger text and icons fit into the same size page in my safari window.

Now, under 10.8, it zooms the page as is, in other words, **outside** the window which means I have to scroll around left to right to see the whole page.

Is there any other way to get back to the zoom function I was used to before, under 10.6 ??

Huh. Hadn't noticed that. It seems the "Zoom Text Only" setting under the VIEW menu only applies to the font size buttons that you can add to your toolbar... logically, they should also apply to the two-finger zoom. Fail!

A bit of a hack but...

You can download BetterTouchTool from Great Tools For Your Mac By Andreas Hegenberg » BetterTouchTool, BetterSnapTool & SecondBar

Map the two finger pinch in/out (or whatever you want) to ⌘= and ⌘- and make sure the "Zoom Text only" is selected in Safari. Won't be "analog", but will zoom only the text.

EDIT: Somewhat predictably, this will disable the "pinch for tab view" gesture. So I have since changed the gesture for zooming to three-finger swipes up and down.
