Ok, so I got a DVD of 10.6, but now my SuperDrive just keeps spitting it out. Is there another way i can install? I tried creating an image, but the installer simply says to burn the files to a disk in order to install. Is my only option to replace the SuperDrive? I NEVER use CDs/DVDs, so I'd like to avoid that.

Are you sure?? But yes it seems so. And I keep forgetting.

"Disk and disc are the two alternative spellings of the descriptive word for things of a generally thin and circular geometry. These variations are due to the way in which the words originated. The discussion here somewhat focuses on disk storage as an electronic media. Generally in computer terminology, disk refers to magnetic storage while disc refers to optical storage."

You might want to read the fine print on the SL 10.6.x install disc label as to what it actually is, and if it's not a retail "SL 10.6.x" install disc, it may be just a SL update disk that's not working and has nothing to do with with your SuperDrive nor the install.

If nothing else, check back with the store where you purchased it and make sure that you got what you paid for and expected with the SL installer you purchased.

No, it's definitely my SuperDrive as it won't accept any other media. Anyone know if 10.7 is still available on USB sticks? Or better yet, anyone in Ottawa has an external SuperDrive I can borrow?

What I've done in the past and would do again is go to my Local London Drugs computer department and explain my dilemma,
Then purchase an 8GB USB pen drive from them and using one of their floor demos to clone my DVD to the USB pen drive using Disk Utility.
I find that being a repeat customer helps in cases like this.

FYI: I'm running a MacMini 2GHz C2D

Thanks!!
which iTunes version do you have that's not working? I'm on 10.5.8 and have iTunes 10.6.3 and a new iPhone that I'm waiting to plug into iTunes (waiting for my number to get ported before I can plug it into iTunes). My SL 10.6 disc is in the mail, and now I'm hoping I won't be phoneless until it arrives.
