How install MS Office 2008 on a Mac Mini?

I've migrated my wife's working files from her G4 OSX10.4.11 to a new Mac Mini, OSC10.7.4 using target disk mode. I did not transfer any apps, as it was suggested to do that as a fresh install from the Install CD.

How to install MS Office 2008 without a CD/DVD reader in the Mac Mini?

By MS Office 8, do you mean 2008? You should be able to download a dmg direct from Microsoft for the MSO 2008 install... If not, PM me, I'll upload it for you to download.

If you had target disk mode working, just connect that up again and put the disc in the G4. Should show up on the new computer within a few seconds.

you could always buy an external USB CD/DVD drive. They're under $30 and will likely come in handy for other installs or disk burning. I rarely use ours but its nice to have when I do need it.

And if any of the previous suggestions don't work or whatever, and extra hardware is not justified, MS Office seems to be a bit fussy at times and likes a clean install.

So make an image of the MS 2008 install disk and get it copied over to her mini, open the transferred image and use it to install and hopefully it will install and work correctly.

I'm assuming that MS Office 8 still works with Apple's Lion OS X 10.7.4. ???

It still works with 10.7.4 and 10.8.1.

What about disk sharing? That feature came out when the first MBAir was released. Put the disk in the other Mac turn on Disc Sharing in the Sharing System Prefs, and it should show up on the mini.

If there is no Disc Sharing option on the other Mac, I think you can download it from Apple.

Considering Office 2011 is actually version 14, 8 would be positively ancient and would not run on an intel Mac...
