Unhappy Deleted QuickTime (DUH) now can't reinstall

I did a stupid thing and deleted QuickTime 7.6 from my iMac Intel OS 10.4.11. I was working in Photoshop and kept getting a message that it could not create a Preview because of a Quicktime problem (can't remember exact wording) and I'd had some other issues so I impulsively trashed it assuming I could reinstall.
I downloaded a new QuickTime 7.6 but at the point where I have to choose where it will be installed, I get a red exclamation mark on the icon of the harddrive and a message saying that I can't reinstall because there is already another QuickTime installed.
I used AppCleaner but with no success because I don't have the original application to "drop here". I have searched with Spotlight for anything with QuickTime in the name but it gets pretty complicated, listing everything from bookmarks to PDFs.
My original installation disc has OS 10.3.
Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks!

I think the problem here has to do with the QuickTime receipts in the library/receipts folder (can't recall if this is your root or user library).

Delete those receipts marked QuickTime and then I'd recommend downloading and installing the 10.4.11 combo update from Apple. But you probably could just reinstall QuickTime.

Think you need to find the last officially supported Tiger version. 7.5.5 I believe.

There's a download available at:
Old Version of Quicktime 7.6.4 (Tiger) Download - OldApps for Mac

Also the same version but with different specs and size at:

Thanks! I stole it myself.

And yes, pm-r is correct. There is a more current QuickTime for Tiger.
