Macpro wont startup! Emergency!

HI,

My Macpro suddenly shutdown and now won't startup. The other day I was working on it and suddenly it just shut down. At first I thought I may have inadvertently told it to shutdown as I was typing frantically at that moment. Then today it suddenly did it to me again. I was just checking some videos I had created for a show I'm producing tomorrow so I restarted and was questioning what was up but I continued checking the videos. It suddenly shutdown again and now won't start up.

Of course the videos I need for that show are on that computer. I have earlier an earlier version of all the videos which I plan to spend the rest of my night finishing on my MBP now but if anyone can give me some insight on this issue so I can at least pull those files I would be extremely grateful.

I would start by pulling out the HD--easy to do on a MacPro--and putting it inside a FireWire enclosure so I could transfer essential files to another drive.

Agreed. There are some wonderful quick release enclosures that saved my butt recently.

Sounds like it could be a bad power supply in your case.

Probably too late now, but I would have said pull the drive, put it in an external case, connect it to your MBP, pull off the files you need. I agree with cap10, sounds like the power supply has gone.
