media player

I am currently running a mac book pro, every time I play a video or audio file the system defaults to the real player. How do I make another player the default player.
I>E> vlc or mx player

And it still works with Apple's latest OS X?? Wow.

Quite amazing if so and haven't really needed it for my own use. But still mainly using SL.

Find the file, and click the "Get Info" button in the top menu. change the "Open With" selection to your media player of choice. Below that, it will ask you if you want "Change All" similar files to open with that player. Tell it YES!

RealPlayer is a first cousin to malware.

I'm surprised to hear anyone still uses real player anymore... I stopped using it 6-7 years ago(when I was still a windows user) and have never even bothered to install it on any of my macs.

nasty

Ottawa ah glad that they lost to the Rangers. If u would read instead of trying to put me down u would know that the player is part of the 2012 Mac Book Pro. Like I said I don"t use the player I change it. The question was how do I make the change a perm. one and not by selecting the open with which .

HOWEVER: occassionally I have in the past provided links to instructions or illustrations. I will not do so in future, in fact I will not be offering helpful advice for free just to have my words pirated until the sleazy ad linking desists. I will, however, answer PMs.
