Just telling the truth, good price and good luck!

I understand some people don't need them but it depends on the user. I have one behind our main T.V. for a media centre we toss in new movies that aren't stored in the 750G internal drive and also Handbrake those we want to store. We have another behind the T.V. in front of our treadmill for the same reason, watching movies, listening to cd's etc. The third we have in our recording studio which we use to record onto cd's, so to answer your question, yes we REALLY need an optical drive.
I could go without one in my macbook pro and I am thinking of installing an ssd as soon as they come down more in price to replace the optical.
