eBay Deals in Canada, eh.

So... I am a total eBay addict. I got all excited when I read this morning that eBay has released another app: eBay Deals. But, my bubble totally burst when I realized that only our American neighbours get that juicy gem.

Anyone know if they plan on opening up this app to Canucks?

You could create a U.S. iTunes Store account to get it...

I'm pretty sure this method still works:

How to set up a US iTunes Account in Canada: Round 2

Just google "itunes promo code" to find a code to use, e.g. for a free music download. You'll need to enter a U.S. address, so use your imagination (many of us on this forum are neighbors in Beverly Hills, CA, 90210 ) or generate an address here: Generate a Random Name - Fake Name Generator

What would be the point of him going to the trouble of doing that to get the Deals app if the Deals app only works with US Ebay deals, and most sellers won't (or charge a lot to) ship to Canada??

Probably a better idea to wait until the Deals app is upgraded to include ebay.ca. There are other good reasons to get a US iTunes account in addition to a Canadian one, but getting the Deals app just to be constantly tortured by deals that don't apply to us really isn't one of them.

There are sometimes deals available to Canadians, and deals where the seller doesn't charge a lot to sell Canada.

As long as one avoids UPS, and is careful about the seller, it doesn't hurt to shop around.

As I mentioned, I am an AVID eBayer, with great feedback. US sellers usually have no problem shipping to me and I'm pretty good about finding cheap shipping. UPS is a killer so ALWAYS avoid them, if you can.

It's good to 'shop' around.

If it has to come Via UPS I will not buy anything. That being said, Fed-Ex is getting almost as bad.

Most people seem to understand and will try to ship USPS
