Put the Posting Rules and Quick Reply sections together on same horizontal. Hide the Similar Threads section. When I go to a thread I often like to quickly page down (Command + down arrow) to get to the bottom to read the latest posts. |

In the red bar for each section (Quick Reply, Similar Threads), at the far right, there is a blue button. Click on it and you will hide/show that section. This preference will hold until you click on those blue buttons again, so that should make things easier.
