I asked a question regarding transferring my MacPro settings to a new computer. I got great responses.
My post drew in a PM from a user here: MacDoc offering a trade for my machine for something that would suit me better right now. All good.
This user seems to be a prominent member here (30,000 posts), but I couldn't find any feedback for them here.
I'm just doing my due diligence before I send my machine to them.
Can you comment:
- legit?
- feedback?
- service?
- user experiences ie. traded with MacDoc before?
- can you register your machine with Apple if you purchase/trade with him? ie. not grey market
etc etc
I'm sure MacDoc is great and this question is probably like asking if anyone has heard of Mother Theresa, but better safe than sorry.
I don't participate on EhMac enough to "know" everyone.
thanks!

I'm also new here and have noticed MacDoc's threads. On MacDoc's profile, he listed his own website MacDoc.com along with email address and phone number.
MacDoc is indeed known and familiar. But in my experience people get better value for money by selling their stuff right here on ehMac and buying outright with no trade. Of course, you'd have to compare the specific deal offered, the ease of the trade and take into account that selling can sometimes have risks.
If you let us know what the specific offer was, we can comment on the value.
I appreciate that for a trade in, I won't get as good as outright sale, however I think MacDoc's deal is fair given the convenience of the trade.
I'm looking for feedback from others here that have dealt with MacDoc. He claims 25years in the business, so there's got to be someone on EhMac that's used his services before?

I have bought a PM 7600, B&W, MDD dual 1.25 and an early imac from Macdoc. He has always been there for me, if the need arose. He does do business out of his house, but has always been more professional than many store fronts. I would give him a thumbs up. I cannot speak to this deal, not sure what gen the macbook pro is. Saying that, I will also say this, I have always been satisfied.
BTW, if you do go there say "Hello" to his hedgehog for me!

I have to echo what DR H said. I've bought a Mac Mini and an iBook from MacDoc with absolutely no issues, and he has offered great support. I find him to be a fair dealer and he answered my interminable questions with good humour and patience. I'd definitely use his services again.

MacDoc is a straight shooter in that he gives you what he promises and is quick to provide follow-up service. He knows his stuff.

I just wanted to add my own endorsement of MacDoc.
Dave gave me top notch service. The trade was equitable given the great convenience of the trade itself.
I wanted a new 15.4" MBP, but he talked me into a previous gen 17" MBP hi rez. I'm glad I listened because I saw the latest gen in the store and I find the previous gen better built.
Thanks Dave!
