I am looking to book a trip for the March break and have been visiting some sites to compare prices and options. I was at the iTravel2000 site and came across this message while it did its search.

That part in bold confused me. If you can't beat it why would you give it to me for free? Isn't that false advertising.

It isn't false advertising. They will beat it by $1 before giving it away for free, so their promise is valid.

Yeah, they're never identical, are they.

That reminds me of the coupons for specific types or sizes of a product. The store never has that specific type or size.

Some stores (the big volume ones) will have the manufacturer produce otherwise identical products , but with a unique model identifier for just that store/chain. So it is never exactly the same as a competitor.
"i'm sorry sir, u purchased a model sm6745-b, the one u are showing me is a model sm6745-a."
