That tactic usually doesn't work. Intentional errors are caught by good analysis.

How do I document the spike of unreported crimes in my locale? I want to make sure I get one of the new prisons in my neighbourhood.

Just lobby for it...shouldn't be a problem.

If as you say, these crimes are "unreported" how do you even know about them, unless maybe- Mmmmm!

I think I'll mention it in the 'comments' section, in red crayola.

2) If only every forth residence receives the long form, whether voluntary or not, how is this information accurate? If I received the long form I would say no one had any disabilities. What if my neighbour with 6 disabled kids living on welfare is skipped over for the long form?

My opinion is the census is simply a head count. As for other information? Accurate? I think not.
I'm not a statistician, but it's my understanding that good national polling and statistical analysis is often done with a samples of 3000 or so. So that would be maybe 1 person out of 30,000. This gives them the typical accuracy rates of a few percent if the poll is done properly and scientifically. A mandatory, detailed in-depth survey of 1 out of every 4 would have to be many times the accuracy of these kinds of polls.

They may not be completely accurate on house-by-house level but I'm guessing that the numbers would be pretty damn close for neighbourhoods and even more accurate as the studied area gets larger. Making the long form voluntary introduces sampling bias into the data that makes info extrapolated from that sample as statistically questionable at best. If there is anyone acquainted with statistical analysis on the board they could probably explain this better than I.

The Cons seem to be allergic to using arguments to support their policies based on facts, so having Stats Can only collecting questionable data that is open to interpretation would seem to suit that agenda.

or... don't ask questions you don't want to know the answers to.

Well until your riding of North-Far-From-The-Tree starts electing Conservatives, you'll be out of luck for one of those billion-dollar prisons. But you can document the data the same way the Conservatives did, by pulling it out of your ass.

I understand there is a 89% increase in the field of rectal-foraged data since the Conservatives formed government.
