Just thought I'd post a reminder for the Red Cross and other Relief Fund Donations.
I couldn't find a similar recent post using the ehmac search, but considering all the recent and latest world disasters, I thought a timely reminder may help for those who might like to help those less fortunate. Just in case it had slipped one's mind to do so ...
Thanks Lars, and I was just trying to be "politically correct" for those that might have their favorite relief fund to donate to and your posted link does some of that.
Bottom line it seems is good hard cash is the most efficient relief method assuming that it goes to legitimate sites and don't bother bundling food or clothing etc. that needs to be shipped and add to the chaos.
Thanks, pr-m and Lars. I am a regular contributor to the Red Cross for just these sorts of reasons, in that they are there ASAP with relief and assistance. I saw first-hand how they came to NL just after Hurricane Igor hit and were on the ground days alongside provincial workers and before Ottawa sent any help.
I've just added my contribution to the Red Cross to help aid in Japan.
Keep in mind too that donations are tax deductible as well. Canada alone could donate $33+ million if every one of us donated just a single dollar to the cause. Food for thought.
