Politics forum merged with Everything Else

Just FYI, I've merged the Politics Sub-forum with the main Everything Else forum. Posts were getting quite sparse there.

There's no US election for awhile, and it appears no Canadian election for now.

When elections come up, I may just make a special "Election" sub-folder if it gets too busy.

Like all forums on ehMac.ca, please keep discussions on political issues civil. Debate issues but be respectful to fellow ehMacians.

That's too bad. I liked it segregated so all the BS was easy to find in one spot.

I'll second SINC's thoughts, but it's really not that big a deal. I can relearn my old sifting technique again.

I'd prefer to see such threads kept in quarantine...

I like it where it is now. Alas, knowing that it will be moved once again is of little comfort to me. We Canadians can be such odd ducks. Driven by a frigidly rigid politeness gene, maybe? Must look into that sometime.

Anyway, on to Sinc's point: there's plenty of BS about in here even without the nasty branding of politics. Witness the recent flu thread... lots of opinion, infotainment, misinformation, impoverished speculation, etc. Fits right in with political discussions, come to think of it.

Currently, not planning on moving it all back. Just thinking of making a specific "Election" thread during election time. If it gets too busy.

One suggestion I have, is perhaps we can make several specific threads that we keep going instead of making so many individual ones?

Maybe:
Canadian political parties
US Politics

Thoughts?

On the one hand, I'm down with a single general-purpose politics thread. Maybe another for elections when they come around.

On the other hand, I really detest sticky threads which hang around at the top of the page in perpetual suspension. But that's just me.

Well, glad to hear you are at least going to try to keep it all under one tent, Ehmax. We'll see... I expect some of the kingdom's many subjects will strenuously attempt to convince you that a quarantine of the more pestilent conversation would be in order.
