Grey Gardens - 1975 Documentary

Anybody ever see this strange little slice of life documentary? I know there's been a recent movie made starring Drew Barrymore but I haven't watched it. Anyway, if you like taking a walk on the bizarro side of entertainment then you might enjoy taking a look at this because it's weird for sure.

Clip from documentary:
YouTube - A Staunch Character

For more info about this doc:
Grey Gardens (1975)

(Strange - every time I attempt to post a Youtube video it works when previewing the post but then fails when the post is submitted. Anybody else have this problem?)

Wonderful film. Little Edie Beale was quite the character. It's hard to believe she was in her 50s when the film was made.

I don't care how good the recent movie and Broadway show are, I think it's a shame that Hollywood and Broadway moguls think every interesting bit of past pop culture (and many uninteresting ones besides) is just crying out to be milked for all it's worth. This is one that should have been left to stand on its own.

great films - both past and present on Rogers on Demand / TMN

loved them both..
but I should of watched the '75 version first then the movie..
any how still loved them...

my heart went out to the daughter, mother played mental warfare with her; she was a 15 year old in a 50-something body.. Very pretty too.

amazing anyone can live like that.

Just happened to have watched the first one a few weeks back. Wonderfully strange flick. Hard to believe they were just being themselves. What a couple of characters.

Would love to see the new one. I'm betting Jessica Lange could play a mean big Edie.

A very sad yet compelling tale.
