And here I thought it was a part of bare bones basic common sense. Evidently, it isn't. I never understood how, let alone why, people don't move to the other lane, or at the bare minimum, slow way down. I don't buy the excuse that drivers don't see the shouldered emergency vehicle(s) until the last second - unless you're only paying attention to the first 30 feet in front of your car, which in that case, you shouldn't be driving to begin with. Most emergency vehicles are clearly marked, with clear, bright lights; especially OPP cruises. How one doesn't notice is beyond me.

I think they should all mount cameras to the front of the vehicles, and if people don't get out of the way for emergency vehicles, suspend their licence on a first offence, revoke for a second.

... a little harsh, but your sentiment is on the right track. Too many variables sometimes don't allow one to immediately move out of the way. By blatant disregard needs to be heavily punished.
