Can't vouch for the effectiveness of online petitions, but if you ever want to be able to take your U14 sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, whatever on a motorcycle ride, you may want to sign this one & call up your local MLA & drill them a new body orifice.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The Bill amends the Highway Traffic Act to prohibit driving or operating a motorcycle on a highway while a person under the age of 14 is a passenger on the motorcycle, with a view to promoting safety on Ontario's roads and protecting youth from preventable injuries.
Sounds like a great, steaming pile of horse***** to me. Time to get the phones ringing & the pens writing.
Wow talk about paternalistic law. That is ridiculous. Don't even bring the sanctity of life principle on me for this one. That is simply 'weak sauce' as they say.

We live in a Country that seems to think it needs to legislate every thing we do in life. It's a shame, really.
I've been riding a motorcycle since I was 16 (25 years now). Both my daughters began riding on the back of my bike when they were 7. They had to wear full gear, full face helmets, etc. It is dangerous? Sure. But so is crossing the street.
At some point, we have to tell the government, ENOUGH!
If the government spent as much time taking care of the economy or ridding our streets of gang bangers instead of dreaming up MORE stupid laws in the Province, we'd be in great shape. What's next?
Is there anything else that Dalton wants to ban while he's at it? Enough's enough. You could get hit by a car or stuck by lightning tomorrow and there's nothing you can do about it. Are we going to have to go walking around in full football gear at all times just because we could, in theory, bump into something at any time? Honestly...
