Sucks! A friend of mine is gettin' married in June and suspects he may get cut...horrible. The gov't needs to do more to prevent jobs loss to other countries. Is there something so wrong with wanting to keep OUR OWN citizens employed?

This is the second one I know of after Dell closed Edmonton call centre with a loss of another 1,000 plus jobs here.

One of the factors behind this is the strong Canadian dollar. Damn you Canucks and your sound economic policies and low debt!!

Ironically, as India and China's economies continue to slowly build, and the US dollar becomes more worthless, these types of jobs may actually come BACK to the US since it would be cheaper than going to overseas. How's that for irony?

Of course nobody wants to talk about the consequent lowering of the standard of living ...

Actually there a number of companies that do very well with "mums at home" in the US.
As the population ages it's a natural for the retired as well.

That may be, MacDoc, but I was comparing Canada to the US. Compared to the US, Nigeria has sound economic policies -- and their largest source of foreign income are those email scams!
