I've used Protowall on Windows in the past. The biggest issue I have with these programs are the fact you have to manage good/bad IPs, I found that it interfered with regular web surfing too much. You must keep the block list up to date on a regular basis.
Let's just say it out loud, you use these programs to stop RIAA/MPAA/etc contractors from sniffing what you are sharing via P2P, BitTorrent, etc. This is a fair precaution just as radar detectors are for speeding (where allowable by law )
I agree with the others - I'm doubtful this will protect you enough and may give you a false sense of security.
