ISP in Ottawa?

Rogers seems to want to keep cutting off my service saying there's a virus on one of the systems. So what other companies are out there? Looking for at least 5mbit/s

Thankfully someone has an open wireless near me, it's slow but allows me to do at least something.

Also I hate that Rogers throttles torrents, so a company that doesn't would be great.

I'm on Sympatico, and it works fine for me - but you will hear stories from people who have had trouble. I've had DSL with them since early 2001, and in general, it has been rock-solid. But, I am in the Market area, and the local central office is barely a kilometre away.

Are you on wi-fi? I ask because this happened to someone I know - they didn't have security on their connection and someone else was infected with something that turned their machine into a "zombie" - a system that spewed spam that was fed to it.

He reset his wifi with a much stronger password, and poof, the problem went away.

Ottawa ISP

Hey I'm currently live in centretown Ottawa.
I'm currently with NCF for DSL.

NCF (National Capital Freenet) offers:
No contract or activation fee
$29.99/mth price tag
5mbps download
200GB/mth cap for downloading which is plenty!
I bought my modem through them which is a speedtouch 516 and it works great. I did a speedtest earlier today and I'm getting 5136kbps download. I would highly recommend NCF, but bear in mind that the customer service is not very great due to the lack of staffing. Hope this helps.

Even though it shows ISP as Teksavvy I'm with NCF.

Teksavvy offers 5Mbps service with 200GB of bandwidth for $29.95/month.

TekSavvy Solutions Inc

Great company.

From a cursory glance, it would appear that NCF is reselling Teksavvy DSL, so Speedtest.net is accurate.
