An Indian court ordered the arrest of Hollywood star Richard Gere on Thursday for kissing Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty at an AIDS campaign event this month saying it was an obscene act committed in public.
Somebody should let India know it's the 21st century.
I'm surprised they haven't issued a warrant for David Hasselhoff for making Baywatch the number one watched show worldwide.
I saw a clip of it. She may have been able to charge him under many country's laws, but general claims of "obscenity" are quite socially restrictive. Still, it's not his country so he should be a little more careful. "I can do this where I come from" is not a strong defence.
The government is still responsible for the laws for which people can be arrested and charged with. Still, people do need to be careful what laws they can potentially break while in foreign countries.
And I agree, The Mothman Prophecies does warrant some legal action.
