Any 80's fans out there?

Guess what?

We announced today that we would be having a retro dance at school featuring songs ONLY from the Eighties and Nineties. Believe it: the kids are excited!!!!!!!!

So, what song would YOU have played?

Here's a few...

"Whip It" by Devo
"Mr. Roboto" by Styx
"I Wanna Be Sedated" by The Ramones

It's neat to see the "retro music" being back in vogue with the youth.

I'm not really an 80's fan per se.. but, I do like a few groups.

The ultimate party song for the 80's would have to be Rapper's Delight by The Sugar Hill Gang.

It was released in 79, but.. 80 was the year.. the rest is history.

Keep it comin' people!!!! There are tracks here that I forgot about! NICE!

Funny. Our school dances have sucked (according to the kids!) because no one dances. Even when "their" music is played, they just stand around and loiter. Whenever an "old school" track is played then the dance springs to life.

So, when it was announced that there would be a total retro dance the kids cheered. Seriously.

I think it's largely because they can now act like kids and have fun rather than emulate the girating automatons they see in 50 Cent videos...
