RCMP spied on Tommy Douglas for 30 years, just announced on CBC tv

why am I not surprised

must be part of that Herbert Hoover influence

Well, considering Tommy's early thoughts on eugenics and his penchant for hanging around communists (who wanted to destroy the Western way of life), it shouldn't come as a big surprise that he was watched.

It's in the Globe too. Apparently they spied on many politicians. This was before CSIS was created and split off (many parallels to today's problems).
