On a plus side for the brave souls who did decide to drive to work, the roads and freeways are basically traffic free.
Transit users didn't fare so well waiting for up to two hours for trains. Trains were running at 50km/h or less as a precaution.
Most schools closed due to extreme snow conditions.
Looking for easy money? Just go to one of the many houses that didn't shovel their sidewalks. I can give you tips on how to "fall down" without being called for diving.

I think the Vancouver snowfall was why my flight was cancelled. D'oh!
Where were you going?
I normally take transit to work, but took my Jeep the last couple days since I had to drive my wife to work. Sounds like this saved me time as well given the transit problems.
I love driving around in the snow and doing donuts in parking lots.
More snow please, except tomorrow since I am moving.

I guess what is normal for the rest of us is earth shattering news for Vancouver and Victoria. Still, I hope no one gets hurt until the rain washes everything away and next week you shall be on your way to spring.

Most of Canada clears the dry snow right away, and puts down gravel/sand at intersections.
Unfortunately, when it seems to snow here, it tends to come in rather large heavy dumps, and nobody bothers with winter tires. The wet snow/freezing overnight phenomenon doesn't make it easy on anyone's nerves come morning.
I've been waiting all week, but I finally saw a SMART car venturing out in the snow today. Always wondered how those light cars handle the slippy conditions.
