Can't happen soon enough, but could he take Rick Mercer with him?

I like Mercer.

The Mulroney petition is one heckuva good idea though.

Ditto the Doug's vote. Keep Mercer - he's a national treasure. In terms of playfully skewering politicos and celebs, he's an equal-opportunity skewerer. See - witty and egalitarian. What more could one ask?

Whereas Ben Mulroney is flat-out nauseating. I continue to nurture the faint hope that he will take his "hard-earned" wealth and retire into blessed anonymity. Alas, time and time again I have been disappointed. His grinning visage is a blight on my television.

Everybody likes Rick Mercer, even the people he derides. If they could line up to be on his show, they would, and that includes the likes of Preston Manning and Stephen Harper. For chrissake, a few weeks ago Harper let him sleep on his couch.

Is there any chance this petition will reach the heights of the "Change Stockwell Day's First Name to Doris" petition? They had to stop it when it reached 1.5 million or thereabouts.

(Day had an idiotic idea that if Canadians wanted something changed, they could petition and it would only take 3% of us to effect that change. And yet his first name remains Stockwell. Go figure--literally.)

I'm hoping BM goes for the bigger bucks South of the border and takes a weatherman position in a small market TV station in Southern Texas. I figure that's the best way he could keep himself inserted in the media without me likely ever seeing him again.

Ben Mulroney and Rick Mercer?
That's like putting Orville Redenbacher and Alain Passard in the same sentence.

Mulroney can stay as long as he promises to never run for office. Same for Justin Trudeau.

The Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, Danny Williams, is going to issue a statement at noon here in St.John's, that should Rick Mercer be deported, he shall be granted asylum here in NL.

Unlike BM, JT displays a certain intellect, as does Rick Mercer.

BM's only skill seems to be as a slobbering, fawning little sycophant to the American star system.... Come to think of it, that is not unlike his father's relationship to Ron Regan and the US in general......... Perhaps this is what passes for training of future leadership in the Conservative (or whatever they are calling themselves this week) party...

In the lexicon of Carl Hiassen, BM would be a mere 'turd fondler' - failing to rise (sic) to the vaunted status of 'sh!tweasel'....
