Question Netscape mail - what the...?

Anyone else foolish enough to have e-mail accounts with Netscape? What's going on? Have (eventually) found out that they've "made changes" but I'm still not able to access my e-mail accounts. Anyone else going through this? Anyone been able to negotiate the obstacle course and access their mail?

Yep. Click on http://www.aol.com/ Click on Mail Enter "Screen Name" and "Password". You will need to fill out parts of the form but it should show with somr relevant info there already. You need to accept AOL terms but once you do it should take you to your acccount. I did it and it worked.

Send a message via AIM to SINC
You mean people still use Netscape? I thought it died years ago?

Thanks Voyager - tried that but all I (still) keep getting is a page telling which browsers are supported. Yes, Sinc, some of us are dinosaurs! I've had my Netscape accounts for the past seven years and probably just kept them on out of laziness. Of course, I've never had a problem until now and I've got all kinds of stuff stored on there that I wouldn't want to lose. Oh well...

I've been able to get in using Firefox 1.5 and Netscape 7.2. Don't have a newer version of safari so have problems with that one. What browser are you using?

I've been trying Safari and Netscape. I'll try Firefox tomorrow and see if I have any success there. I've had enough for today.
Thanks for the input - I'll let you know.

I have an old Netscape account that still gets email which I check once a month (to avoid the account from being deleted). I just wish I could auto-forward the emails to my Gmail. So annoying.

Wolfshead, I followed Voyager's instructions and set up a new AOL account. When I went to access the email I got the same page as you showing a list of supported browsers. At the bottom of that list there is a line with a link to Classic web mail access. Click on that link and you will get a viewable email page. It works fine.

One big plus of this free email service is that it offers IMAP support so you can view your email using email software as well as via the web based viewer. Not too many free email services offer IMAP or POP3 support as they are web based only. It's always nice to have a free service that is disposable if spam becomes a problem.

Here's the link to IMAP mail setup for AOL mail http://about.aol.com/faq/openmailaccess
It was indirectly linked in the link that Voyager provided. Thanks Voyager for that info
