Talking Microsoft secretly admitting MSN web search not the way to go?

I downloaded IE 7 for Windows XP, and noticed two things...

1. There is now a web search box on the top right corner of the browser right where Safari and Firefox puts it.

2. Like Safari and Firefox, it uses Google?

Seeing how Microsoft has its own MSN web search, isn't it odd for them to be defaulting to Google in IE7?

Watching WWDC 06, hehe funny stuff.

dona83 - By default it uses MSN's Search, however if you go to Google's homepage you can set it to search Google if you wish.

Chealion, you're right, except I noticed this the first time I opened IE7. Perhaps it just copied the settings over from IE6 because I had installed the Google Bar?
