what they say on the site is they take 6 mentos, drill holes in them and tie them on a string, then they drill a quarter inch hole in the lid, and pull the string through, they pour out a little of the pop and screw the rigged cap back on, but while holding the string, keeping the mentos hanging just above the diet coke, then they release the string letting the mentos fall into the diet coke and the spray goes crazy through the drilled hole in the cap.
at least thats how i read it.
