They set aside their differences and mated

http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/natio...olar-bear.html

Those bears must have had too many beers.

....
The DNA of a bear shot in the Northwest Territories in April shows it was a hybrid of polar bear and grizzly — perhaps the first ever seen in the wild.
....
It was considered nearly impossible for the two species to mate, since polar bears mate on the ice, while grizzlies mate on land.
....
"Some of the elders here in town say in the past there's been grizzly sightings but usually they fight."
....

So the message is that if we put aside our differences we will be shot? - No wait, that does not work...
So is the "grizzbe" due to global warming? And how can we blame this on the oil companies?

Sadly, this may be another early indicator of the demise of the polar bear. We shall see.

Sorry about the late joke, I'm off today:

The oil companies can be blamed if they lubed up for the act.

I think this is an interesting story with complicated implications as far as hunting and conservation legislation/policies go.

It was at least better than my bear-beer line, wasn't it? Granted, not to the highest standards but, in my defence, bear-lovin is an inherently distracting topic.
