Home audio - Bryston vs Rotel

Anyone have experience with both? My system had a Rotel preamp and a Threshold class A poweramp. I needed to buy a preamp for a second spare amp I had which was going to go to another room as a 2nd setup so I figured I'd upgrade from the rotel to something and move the rotel with the other amp. I picked up a used Bryston BP5 preamp that was in great shape. I know Bryston to be fairly high end but sonically would it be any different than the Rotel? I'm asking because I personally cannot tell any differnece what so ever. I've tried and I cannot. They sound identical.

So my question is this. Are Rotel and Bryston in the same class or is bryston higher and if so, is it higher just because of build quality and warranty or sound too? I've built the speakers myself so maybe its holding me back?? Just a set of small bookshelf ones with VIFA components (5.25" and 1")

on't know about Rotel, but Bryston is excellent quality & good reputation for honouring its warranties (which travel with the equipment, not with the owner). Bryston is pro-level stuff, & worth its weight in gold – reliable, usually exceeds specs, and retains value for a long, long time.

You don't say which model of Rotel you have so it's hard to comment. A few years ago, Rotel made excellent products, now the quality and sonic signature is uneven.

Bryston has a great reputation. The sound and build quality are excellent. I have listened to the Bryston pre-amp and found it a little bright - this may have been due to the amp/speaker/source combo.
Your speaker maybe holding back the sound.
As for same class, I'd give Bryston the overall edge.

Hey, I just noticed you've got this posted 3 times in two different places - can we consolidate and have it just single-posted please?
