Stephen Harper has a dog

You know who else had a dog?
Hitler.
Adolf Hitler.
That's who.
Did Stephen Harper train his dog to attack racial minorities on command?
We don't know.
He's not saying.

If a Doxie helps you to vote Conservative, then a Doxie it is.

Vandave, I vote on the basis of principles, not breed of dog. I am still unsure as to how to vote. Since becoming a citizen, I have voted for the NDP, the Conservatives and the Liberals. Sadly, the Green Party and the NDP have candidates who are just people to have a name on the ballot. I know that they get money for each vote they receive, but I contribute to each party, so that frees my vote. I like out Conservative incumbant MP, Norm Doyle, and since I met Harper in the Calgary Airport a couple of years ago, and had a brief chat about politics, I don't see him as "el diablo". I believe in most of the Liberal policies, but I am galled at what they have done re scandals. The Dingwall "severance" was the icing on the cake.

So, unless a party is going to make the standard wirehaired dachshund the national animal, and replace the beaver with a doxie on our five-cent coins, I am in a quandary.

Harper is also a trekkie:

That tells me Harper has some idealism in his bones. The trekkie world is very idealistic and socialistic.

Rondi Adamson, a contributor to Conservative party member Ezra Levant's blog at the Western Standard newspaper, says Harper is a huge Star Trek fan.
"Like, huge. And it has to be the classic series, from the 1960s -- none of that Next Generation, Deep Space Nine crap," Adamson says.
...
To be fair, original Trek was limited due to sentiment at the time, and reflected more of an interventionist and individualistic policy. New Trek was where the more socialist aspects were explored.

Maybe all candidates should be ranked on a old-to-new Trek scale, instead of left-right? If so, where does Enterprise fit?

Oh god, I hope this doesn't start another round of serious attacks...
Laughter is divine.

Hi,

Remember that Harper isn't Conservative as much as he is Alliance/Reform. some seem to forget this.

I met Preston Manning about 8 years ago. Nice guy.
