Your free spirited maiden aunt leaves you $50k......
Your free spirited maiden aunt leaves you $50k in her will with the stipulation you MUST spend it on 3 dream items..... not practical things.
Tech toys, vacations, antiques, expensive frivolities all apply.
You have one week to line them up for the executor's approval before he doles out the cash.
Make your picks. Show us in photos. Where or what.
A 60 year old Dalmore single malt??......that qualifies. That'll cover 1/2 or more
The cruise of a lifetime how far can $50k take you??
Impress the glinty eyed executor with your obvious love of frivolity and waltz out with your $50k dream goodies PAID IN FULL.
Let's have some pre holidays creative spending here.

The practical thing to do with this money is to pay off my line of credit. However, since I have to be impractical, I think I have an interesting way to spend the money.
My only "maiden aunt", who was actually the sister of my grandmother, was a real socialist. She wanted to go and fight with the Abe Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War and was outraged to find out she would not be allowed to join and serve.
So, practical me would pay off debt.............impractical me would give it away to people I do not know and who would never know where this real spirit of Christmas/Hanukkah came from this year. Paix.

Golf - since I have already played Pebble Beach and Glen Abbey ... there is only one holy grail left to play - St. Andrews ... and of course, a trip to watch 'The Masters'. A golf school would be pretty cool as well ... likely one by Dave Pelz.
Audio/Video - Sony Qualia 70" SXRD TV / or Qualia SXRD Projector

Absolutely unbelievable ... I played in August 1995 ... perfect day ... 80 degrees ... relatively calm winds. I can't imagine how difficult the course would be when the wind starts blowing ... I remember watching the final round of the US Open in '92 on TV ... I don't think any amateur would have been able to finish that day.
Back then ... the cost was $175 US ... expensive, but absolutely worth it for a once-in-a-lifetime experience ... the place is simply breathtaking ... and knowing the history of the area makes it even more special. I think the green fee now is probably close to $400 US ... if you love golf and have the chance to play ... it is worth it ... you will never forget it.
