I thought it would be interesting if we had a thread dedicated to a daily topic of discussion.
Basically someone picks the topic for the day and well, we put our input. The topic can be anything at all. Sports, pop culture, music, movies, TV, ehMac, whatever. the possibilities are endless.
We should however set out some ground rules. We had this problem in the Person of the Day thread where (intentionally or not) there would be several nominations for the POD. My suggestion to alleviate that is for every new topic, put the date with the day of the week in the message body at the top in bold (even though the date is on the post it can get missed). Like this:
Wednesday, Nov 23.
That should eliminate any confusion. Unless there are any other suggestions.
As well, lets stick to the daily topic. No derailing or "crapping". This is for fun after all.
Big hair, blondes, rockers in makeup, pastels, tennis shirts, damn aligator, pockets with zippers...
Horrible flashbacks are starting, got to go lie down for a while.
Black jackets with the sleeves rolled up to the elbow. Pants with a zipper that go all the way to the other side. Hair cripping. Chains, bandanas, and keylocks around the wrist. Zinc sunscreen. Vuarnet Cateye sun glasses.

I had a pair of spiky, irridescent grey boots that I paid a bundle for. All wasted, because I couldn't walk in them. I also had a pair of knickers in black with gold pinstriping. Knickers were back in style at the time for some reason.
Don't ask me. I was just a kid with a credit card.
New day so new topic. My turn to pick.

Favorite car of all time and why.
Porsche 959. All wheel drive, variable height suspension, first 200 mph production car, 0-60 in 2.9sec, rare (only 200 made). All that technology in 1986. Plus it has a story of being made for a type of race that was canceled the year it was produced, so it never got to race the type of course it was designed for.
Here's my personal favourite. I loved this car and it was a thrill to drive. The raw power of the twin carbs and a four speed overdrive combined with having your butt about 6 inches off the ground gave a real sensation of speed and the low centre of gravity made cornering a breeze.
