This is going to sound weird but for those of you who like steak go to Shoppers Drug Mart to buy it, yes Shoppers Drug Mart *well only the ones that sell frozen foods* I was at Shoppers yesterday with my wife to buy soap and stuff and I went down the side isle and noticed some steaks, 100% Canadian Beef Sirlion Steaks ON SALE for $7.99 *regular price is $12.99* for 3 nice sized steaks which are individually vacuum sealed. All I can say is WOW! these are the best steaks I ever bought, so juicy and tender and what a deal at $7.99 for 3. I usually buy my steaks at Fortino's and pay $6.00 each for a steak and they don't even come close to these ones ... I'm going back to buy some more.
Hey Gary ... most new ones sell frozen foods, not a lot but there is a section with a few freezers which have frozen pizza's etc. and these steaks which are in a square like box. I shop at the one in Brampton.
I don't know about buying meat from a drug store. Kind of scares me.
Personally, I never buy my meat from a grocery store. we prefer to buy it from a butcher who has the best meat I have ever tasted. Worth the extra price. The chicken at the grocery store is disgusting compared to the free range chicken we get from our butcher.
Besides, I don't know what quality of meat I am getting at a grocery store, let alone Shoppers with all of the hormones that get pumped into the animals so they produce faster. At least at my butcher I know where the meat comes from and the quality of the meat.

I would hesitate to buy meat from Shopper Drug Mart as well. I would tend to question why they are able to sell it so cheap...?
I agree with MaxPower - go to your nearby butcher and support the smaller businesses. It will cost a little more but the quality is so much better. I also feel it's important to support your local farmers whenever possible.
I must say...a steak sure does sound good right now.
