It's the same up here as it is down there, just replace Republican with Liberal. No Liberal bashing intended. Whoever is in power just can not seem to stop breaking the law and breaking the trust of the people. So very sad.

It messes with your alliteration, Dr. G, but that should probably be pseudo-democratic. No first-past-the-post system is truly democratic, and the winner-take-all aspect of it encourages illicit behaviour.

Lot of hyphens there.

I think that concept was lost with the end of the Athenian civilisation.

What is that saying about absolute power and corruption...?

We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week, but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs but by a two-thirds majority in the case of more major--

I wonder how this notion of "government of the people, by the people and for the people" plays out here in ehMacLand? I think ehMax is viewed as an enlightened and benevolent dictator, who is compassionate and empathetic to most views...........so long as we don't dis U2.
