If it looks like a scam and smells like a scam.....
Possible scam on Ebay for a dual 2G Powermac G5 in toronto.
His auction says he has 2 available with a buy it now price in mind and to email for it. I emailed yesterday afternoon and he sends me the price within minutes. I agree that I want to buy the computer but I want to pick it up in person. He says he is not comfortable with that and OFFERS to pay shipping. So I email back and ask if he'll ship it COD. No response.
I email again two hours later asking the same thing but adding the CanadaPost quote for shipping and volunteering to pay for the shipping myself. No response.
This morning I see the auction updated to say one is sold and one is still available. I email this morning simply saying that I want to buy the computer and why hasn't he replied (but not mentioning anything about COD). He responds within minutes saying he didn't get the emails and could I send them again. I resend the email again twice asking about COD, once from my emil address and once through ebay. No response.
This guy is clearly not interested in any deals where he has to actually has to front a computer before accepting payment. If he didn't want to send COD he could simply reply and say so but instead he simply ignores my emails.
I'm not saying it IS a scam but if it looks like a scam and smells like a scam.......
